Superman Is Dead, Band Pertama di Indonesia Masuk Billboard

Band punk rock asal Bali, Superman Is Dead mencetak rekor membanggakan dalam sejarah perkembangan musik populer di Indonesia sebagai band pertama yang berhasil menembus chart paling berpengaruh di dunia, Billboard.

Secara tak terduga, Superman Is Dead berhasil menembus posisi #23 di Billboard Uncharted, sebuah chart yang baru saja diluncurkan untuk pertama kalinya oleh Billboard pada 20 Januari lalu di Billboard.com.

“Di posisi No.23, band punk Bali Superman Is Dead berhasil menembus chart Billboard untuk pertama kalinya sejak terbentuk 15 tahun yang lalu. Band ini teken kontrak dengan Sony Indonesia di tahun 2003 dan hingga kini memiliki basis massa penggemar lebih dari 1,6 juta fans dari seluruh dunia di Facebook,” demikian dikutip dari rilis pers Billboard yang diterima Rolling Stone.

Seperti dijelaskan oleh Billboard, chart baru bernama Billboard Uncharted ini menggunakan teknologi pemeringkat bernama Heat Score, sebuah formula online yang mengekspos musik yang diputar via online streaming, page views dan jumlah fans yang ada menurut MySpace Music dan sumber-sumber lainnya yang berhasil dihimpun di antaranya via YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, Last.fm, ReverbNation, SoundCloud, iLike dan Wikipedia.

Billboard Uncharted akan menampilkan 50 artis dari berbagai genre musik (seperti Country, Rock, R&B/Hip-Hop, Latin, dsb.) yang harus terdaftar lebih dulu sebelumnya di MySpace Music dan belum pernah masuk sebelumnya ke dalam chart Billboard apapun agar memenuhi kualifikasi yang telah ditentukan.

Pada berita yang sama sebelumnya, sempat ditulis bahwa Superman Is Dead merupakan artis Indonesia pertama yang berhasil menembus chart Billboard, yang benar mereka adalah band Indonesia pertama yang berhasil menembus Billboard Unchartered.

Anggun adalah artis keturunan Indonesia pertama yang berhasil mencapai posisi No.22 di Billboard Hot Adult Top 40 Tracks untuk lagu "Snow On Sahara" pada 5 September 1998 dan posisi No.16 di Billboard Hot Dance Club Play pada 22 Desember 1998 untuk lagu yang sama. ARMADA hanyalah nama baru di blantika musik Indonesia. Namun personelnya telah lama berkecimpung di dunia musik Indonesia. Terbentuk di Jakarta di pertengahan bulan Oktober 2007, band yang sebelumnya bernama Kertas ini telah meluncurkan album di tahun 2008 lalu berjudul "Balas Dendam" dengan hits single "Gagal Bercinta". musikji.net

Hits tersebut cukup mendapatkan tempat di hati para pecinta musik Indonesia,terbukti berhasil menduduki posisi bergengsi di banyak radio di seluruh Indonesia,dengan periode yang cukup lama.hal ini di karenakan karakter band ARMADA yang begitu kuat dan menyuguhkan aliran music yang Berbeda.


Aliran music yang diusung oleh Armada adalah "Melancholic Pop".Aliran ini di bangun oleh karakter suara sang vokalis dan aransemen music yang begitu terasa melancholic dengan sentuhan musik yang banyak di pengaruhi oleh band - band legendaris dunia seperti The Beatles ,Queen,The Police dan band legendaris dunia lainnya.

Band ini dimotori Andith (DRUM), Rizal (VOCAL), Endra' (BASS), Mai (GUITAR) dan Radha (GUITAR). Tahun 2009, Armada band merilis album kedua 'Hal Terbesar' dengan single andalan 'Buka Hatimu'. (emjhie)

My Chemical Romance adalah grup musik asal New Jersey, yang dibentuk pada bulan September tahun 2001 oleh Gerard Way dan Matt Pelissier. Saat ini, band ini diawaki oleh Gerard Way (vokal), Mikey Way (bass), Ray Toro (lead guitar), Frank Iero (gitar), dan Mike Pedicone (drum) yang menggantikan Bob Bryar yang merupakan drummer sebelumnya yang keluar pada Maret 2010. Nama band ini terinspirasi oleh buku karangan Irvine Welsh yaitu Ecstasy: Three Tales of Chemical Romance.

Namun grup ini mendeskripsikan musik mereka sebagai musik "rock" atau "pop yang kasar",^[2] dan menolak diklasifikasikan sebagai emo.^[3] Grup ini telah merilis empat album yaitu I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love pada tahun 2002, Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge pada tahun 2004, The Black Parade pada tahun 2006 dan Danger Days: The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys yang dirilis pada tanggal 22 November 2010.
Band ini mendapat inspirasi dari Queen, Black Flag, Iron Maiden, The Misfits, Morissey, At the Gates, Pink Floyd, The Smashing Pumpkins, Descendents, Pantera, The Cure, dan The Smiths.
